The impact of the proliferation in the use of social media on the legal profession, including ethical challenges and the consequences for attorneys and paralegals related to technology, discovery, the court system, and marketing. Examination of the applicable ethical rules, case law, and related issues regarding the unauthorized practice of law, confidentiality, conflicts of interest, competence, and professionalism.
Sybil is an educator, author and social justice advocate. She writes and speaks frequently on issues related to the paralegal profession including ethics, technology, paralegal utilization, professionalism, and diversity and inclusion. Sybil is also the co-author of two published textbooks: Ethics and Professional Responsibility for Paralegals (8th edition) and Concise Guide to Paralegal Ethics (5th edition).
